Community & Business Supporters

Michael Yono — Community supporter who contributed to MTI’s children’s backpack and school-supply efforts, helping us provide needed items directly to local children.

Laith Jonna — RAC Melvindale — Local business owner and community supporter who made a substantial private contribution to Melvindale Thrive Initiative. His support will help us meet multiple community needs, with a strong focus on children and families and the programs and resources that serve them.

Private & Community Donors — Residents and supporters throughout Melvindale and Downriver have donated books, food, arts and craft materials, school supplies, program materials, financial contributions, and other resources. Some donors have chosen to remain private.

Funding & In-Kind Supporters

Meijer Community Giving — Provided financial support for MTI’s 2026 Youth Enrichment Pilot.

Delta Dental Foundation — Provided oral-health supplies and multilingual educational materials, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and health-education resources.

Detroit Kiwanis Club No. 1 — Books for Kids — Provides children’s books supporting literacy programming, free community distribution, home libraries, Little Library development, and future Read With Me programming.

Arts & Scraps — Provided hundreds of creative and STEAM activity kits to support youth arts, enrichment, and hands-on learning.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services — Provided health-promotion materials for community programming.

National Road Safety Foundation — Provided driver-safety educational materials.

Dayna Marra — Donated arts and craft supplies for youth programming.

Southgate and Downriver Community Donors — Have donated books, food, art supplies, school supplies, and other materials that have been placed directly back into the community.

Community & Public Partners

Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Public Schools — Working with MTI on youth programming, school needs, enrichment opportunities, literacy, volunteerism, and future community initiatives.

Wayne County Adopt-A-Road Program — Melvindale Thrive Initiative is an officially approved Wayne County Adopt-A-Road participant for Allen Road between Oakwood and Outer Drive.

Local Educators, Volunteers, Families & Community Leaders — MTI continues to work with people throughout the community to identify needs, create programs, connect residents with resources, and develop new partnerships.

Nonprofit Resource & Capacity Support

Good360 — Approved MTI for access to donated products and nonprofit resources.

TechSoup — Provides access to nonprofit technology and organizational resources.

Library of Congress Surplus Books Program — Approved MTI for access to surplus books to help expand community literacy efforts.

Kroger Community Rewards — Melvindale Thrive Initiative participates in Kroger Community Rewards under organization number JQ217.
